Ultra-thin Electrical Steel Strip Products

"Ultra-thin

Ultra-thin electrical steel strip to become a global brand. Meeting the needs for high efficiency and compactness.

The need for more efficient and smaller iron cores using electrical steel strips is increasing in the electric power, renewable energy, industrial equipment and motor fields.

NIPPON KINZOKU group is the only supplier of ultra-thin electrical steel strip with a thickness of less than 0.1 mm in Japan, based on rolling technology cultivated over many years in order to meet these needs.

We also have more than 50 years’ experience in the production and sales of electrical steel strips, and our track record of integrated production, from materials to products such as reactors, has earned the high trust of our customers both in Japan and abroad.

Features of NIPPON KINZOKU’s ultra-thin electrical steel products

Low iron loss

Thinner plate thicknesses enable eddy current losses to be reduced and iron losses to be lowered.

Downsizing

Ultra-thin electrical steel strips have a higher magnetic flux density than other materials, therefore contributing to the miniaturisation of the iron core.

Optimal usage range

The high flux density compared to other materials at usage frequencies of 400 Hz to 40 kHz enables downsizing of reactors, motors, etc.

Insulation coating

Ultra-thin electrical steel strips have excellent insulation resistance and make the most of their material properties. They have a high heat resistance temperature and are able to maintain a stable film even at high temperatures (up to 850℃).

Raw material

Ultra-thin electrical steel strips are made from Fe-3% Si steel (raw material from Nippon Steel).
