The need for more efficient and smaller iron cores using electrical steel strips is increasing in the electric power, renewable energy, industrial equipment and motor fields.

NIPPON KINZOKU group is the only supplier of ultra-thin electrical steel strip with a thickness of less than 0.1 mm in Japan, based on rolling technology cultivated over many years in order to meet these needs.

We also have more than 50 years’ experience in the production and sales of electrical steel strips, and our track record of integrated production, from materials to products such as reactors, has earned the high trust of our customers both in Japan and abroad.

TThinner plate thicknesses enable eddy current losses to be reduced and iron losses to be lowered.

Grain oriented ultra-thin electrical steel strips: GT050

t0.23mm → t0.05mm: Iron loss reduced by 75%!

Non-Grain oriented ultra-thin electrical steel strips: ST050

t0.15mm → t0.05mm: Core loss reduced by 40%!

Ultra-thin electrical steel strips have a higher magnetic flux density than other materials, therefore contributing to the miniaturisation of the iron core.

Ferrite (Mn-Zn based) →Ultla-thin electrical steel strip: 85% downsizing!

High-silicon steel plate → Ultla-thin electrical steel strip: 30% downsizing!

The high flux density compared to other materials at usage frequencies of 400 Hz to 40 kHz enables downsizing of reactors, motors, etc.

Ultra-thin electrical steel strips have excellent insulation resistance and make the most of their material properties. They have a high heat resistance temperature and are able to maintain a stable film even at high temperatures (up to 850℃).

Our ultra-thin electrical steel strips are made from Fe-3% Si steel (Raw material from Nippon Steel Corporation).
